James Di Naso, founder and owner of The Body Club, has been operating a personal training and sports conditioning facility in Charleston IL since 1991. James also served as the Executive Sports Performance Director for Velocity Sports Performance in Willowbrook IL during the first two years of operation from 2004-2006. He has over 29 years of full-time experience in the field and has trained thousands of individuals and athletes, including professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, and MLB, achieve their fitness and performance goals. James' expertise in strength/power development comes from years of involvement in the sport of Olympic Style Weightlifting, where he coached school-age members of his weightlifting club at the national level. He is also a sought after speaker and has presented at several state and national conferences including the NSCA Sports Specific Training Conference, Frank Glazier Football Conference, and NSCA State Clinics. He is a published author with many articles and chapters written for national publications. James earned a Master's degree in exercise science from Eastern Illinois University, is a former certified advanced level coach with the United States Weightlifting Federation, holds both certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT), and is a certified TRX instructor.  James is currently the IL State Director for the NSCA, a position he has held since 2011. James is a former competitor in the sport of powerlifting and in 2011 won the gold medal at the GPA Raw World Championships. Jennifer Carter

Personal Trainer/TRX Instructor

Jennifer Carter, has been working as an independent trainer at The Body Club since 2007. She has been involved in the fitness industry for most of her life. Jennifer began formal dance training at the age of three and continued dance competition and training for 19 years.  During her high school and college years, she worked as both a dance and group fitness instructor.  Prior to working out of The Body Club as a personal trainer, Jennifer taught middle school for 12 years, along with working 4 years as a personal trainer at the YMCA in Mattoon, IL.  She specializes in a variety of training modalities, including, core and balance training, flexibility, post rehabilitation, weight loss, sports performance, and lifestyle and wellness coaching.  In addition to personal training, Jennifer works as a fitness model.  She has appeared in a motion graphics project for McGraw-Hill publishing, starred as an exercise model for a series of educational DVD's published by Healthy Learning, and has been featured on the cover of ACSM's Health and Fitness Journal.  Jennifer earned an undergraduate degree in education and a Master's degree in counseling from Eastern Illinois University.  She has completed post baccalaureate coursework in kinesiology and is a professionally certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise. She has also earned certification in senior fitness training, emphasizing preventive and rehabilitative exercise, from the American Senior Fitness Association, is a certified spinning instructor with Maddog Athletics, and a certified TRX instructor. Jessica Johnson

Personal Trainer/Sports Performance Coach

The Body Club is proud to introduce independent trainer Jessica Johnson. Jessica graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology specializing in exercise fitness and health promotion. Her experience includes working with the International Association for Worksite and Health Promotion for the Midwest Business Group on Health in Atlanta GA and strength and conditioning coaching with the US national women's rugby team. She earned a Certificate of Recognition for Undergraduate Research. Jessica has worked as a personal trainer, fitness assessment technician, fit for life educator, a group fitness instructor, and helped teach exercise psychology at Eastern Illinois University. She is experienced with powerlifting, Olympic style weightlifting, aqua aerobics, resistance training, foam rolling and muscle relaxation techniques. Becky Walden

Yoga Instructor

Becky Walden comes to The Body Club with 13 years of experience teaching yoga at the Dance Life Center(formerly Jackie Bennett Dance) in Charleston, IL. She is a certified instructor in Fit-150 Intended Fitness Yoga She studied yoga for three years with Dr. Suhrit Day, Institute Applied Science and Consciousness, and five years with Jackie Bennett faculty member, Pat Riker. In addition, she attended three summer yoga workshops with Jewel McDonald, a certified teacher of Integrated Yoga Therapy and the Kripalu Institute. She obtained her Masters degree in Educational Guidance and Counseling from Eastern Illinois University in 1999. As a full-time high school teacher with a nearly two hour daily commute, she credits the steady practice of yoga for maintaining energy levels, strength, and flexibility and for easing stress. She is an independent instructor and teaches group yoga classes at The Body Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15 to 7:15pm. Jake Plant

Personal Trainer/Sports Performance Coach

Jake is an independent trainer working out of The Body Club. Born and raised in Birmingham England, Jake moved to the United States at the age of 19 to pursue a collegiate soccer career and a college education. After two years of Junior College in Mason City Iowa, he transferred to Eastern Illinois University to finish his collegiate soccer playing career and earn a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Exercise Science. While at EIU, Jake completed his undergraduate and graduate internships at The Body Club starting in the summer of 2014 and finishing in the spring of 2016. Jake is a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and works with a diverse clientele including individuals and athletes to improve their fitness and sports performance goals. He is currently studying to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and continues to work with the EIU Soccer program as the woman’s head coach. Jake specializes in soccer performance training where he helps younger soccer players develop speed, power, agility and movement skills to enhance their technical soccer skills.
